Did a bit of upgrading today to make print size options available by default in the gallery. The 3 sizes that are now offered standard are 8×12, 10×15, and 12×18. Each size comes with 2 additional options called “Border”. This is basically a mounting option for those that wish to frame prints using a matte and a frame that is larger than the print size (which is highly recommended to prolong the life of the print).
The two options are “None” and “Mounting Border”. “None”, naturally will be a print that is cut to the edge of the image, while “Mounting Border” will include up to 1/4″ extra white space beyond the selected print dimensions to assist in securing the print to the back of a matte.
I’m still out of the country till the 19th of November, so just a reminder that any print orders will be placed on hold until I get back home.
I’m sitting at the airport drinking some sweet Jameson waiting for my flight to Australia and I thought I’d post here. During the next month, any and all print orders will be queued for when I get back home. If you’d like to order any prints but don’t want to be charged until they ship, I recomend that you wait until November 20th to place your order.
All that fun business stuff outta the way, I’ll be doing a number of photo shoots while abroad, so check back for new images and prints!
Well, BM is over now. I must say that the Incendiary Intent camp was simply off the hook almost all week! Our challenge, which we thought nobody would even bother taking, was a total success. Both bar nights were met with people swarming the streets watching the festivities and enjoying our drinks.
For those of you that I gave my card to, I’ll be updating the camp website within the next week with some pictures. Also, if you know that I took a pic of you, and got my card specifically to get a copy of the image please email me.
First new post in a while, I know. Shooting has been pretty much non existant for a long time, but I finally managed to take a trip to Portland, OR to visit my good friend Andrew Kaiser. After having a few models flake out on us for Saturday, we managed to meet up with a very nice model that was willing to bear the cold and dive in to her first nude shoot today.
We managed to get some shots in at a couple downtown Portland locations, including the top floor of a parking structure, and underneeth one of the bridges. I’ve posted a couple of the pictures in the gallery, as well as on dA so enjoy.
Tomorrow I brave the weather and try to make the 11 hour drive back to San Francisco.
Well I’ve decided to enter a few images into the IPA08 contest, but I just can’t decide which ones to enter. So I’m asking anyone to nominate thier 4 favorite images by replying here (or, if you have a DeviantArt account, you can reply to my journal at http://kickstart.deviantart.com).
I will be taking nominations for about a week, then depending on how many images are nominated try to narrow it down myself, or put up another public vote.
Please browse the gallery section here and just reply with the name of the images that you’d like to nominate.
New for the front page is a “Recent Print Additions” block. This will show the last 4 print additions to the gallery. When you click on the thumbnails, you’ll be taken to the gallery where those prints reside. For example, if the last print to be added was a 2007 landscape photo, you’ll be taken to the 2007 landscapes gallery.
Unfortunately, I haven’t yet figured out how to link directly to the specific image within the gallery program, and I don’t want to change to another gallery system as I’ve put too many hours of work into the current one.
I’ve taken the time to compile an article on DeviantArt policies pertaining to the Artistic Nude gallery. This article contains pretty much everything you need to know about what is allowed/not allowed to be posted in the Artistic Nude gallery, as well as some examples of what would be better suited for your scraps gallery.
Our self titled book is now available through lulu.com! This book is a collection of the past three years of Artistic Nude photography. With almost 200 full color pages, it makes a nice addition to anyone’s photo book collection.
Thats right, we’re finally getting a chance to go to Burning Man this year! We’re uber excited and have photo ideas running rampart in our minds.
We’ll be joining a theme camp with some friends this year, the name of the camp is Dust Bowl (its going to be a bowling alley), so be sure to come check it out and say “hi” if you’re gunna be at BM this year.
Also, we would like to meet up with some models (or anyone) that would be willing to participate in some desert scenery nudes. Burning Man is a unique place for Artistic Nude photography, mainly because most people that attend BM wouldn’t even pay any mind to a naked person wandering around with a photographer in tow. So, if you (or someone you know) are interested, feel free to send us an email with your contact info so we can get a meet-up scheduled.
